About Arnie
Prior to law school and becoming a dad for three amazing kids, Arnie spent four years traveling around the world, the highlight of which was 2+ years in India studying yoga and meditation. The essence of what he learned during those formative years has been integrated into his innovative law firm and blog, Legal Sanity.
Today, in his 21st year of practicing law, Arnie is outside General Counsel and business advisor to dozens of small to midsize companies and personal counsel to over a hundred individuals overseeing and handling a vast array of legal needs for his clients. He is firmly committed to generating results that fully align with his client’s best interests in the most efficient process possible. His clients routinely gain unexpected value-added benefits, which generate long-term loyalty and extensive referrals from his clients and the lawyers who refer the client’s to him. His colleagues have given him the highest rating possible — A-V Preeminent — for 10 consecutive years in the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell directory.
In addition to his law practice, Arnie is a mediator on the Mediation Panel for the federal and state courts in New York. He is also a professional speaker, trainer and consultant focused on topics related to the Attorney-Client relationship, negotiation and conflict resolution, and helping lawyers optimize their careers. In the past 10 years, Arnie has presented over 125 programs to 15,000 attendees throughout the United States and Europe. He is a member of the American Bar Association Advisory Panel, a group of lawyers that informs the ABA’s priorities and decisions.
Arnie’s blog, Legal Sanity, is featured on the Law.com Legal Blog Watch. Arnie’s work has been featured in a number of distinguished publications, including the Harvard Negotiation Law Review and the New York Law Journal. An article in the ABA Journal characterizes Arnie as “remarkably skilled at helping clients get past the emotions that distort their sense of what they really need.” Press articles on Arnie’s work have appeared globally, including the Wall Street Journal Online, Yahoo News, the UK Telegraph, India’s Financial Express and many others.
Arnie is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. 1984) and the Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1991). He began his career over 20 years ago as a litigator with the preeminent law firm, Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP. He then became a partner in a thriving Wall Street practice before starting his own law firm in 2000.
